Kim is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN) and Lifestyle Educator. Holistic Nutritionists are trained in natural nutrition and complementary therapies. Her passion is to educate individuals and groups on the benefits and positive impact that nutrition can have on health.
Unfortunately, mainstream medicine places little significance on the role that poor nutrition plays as a major cause of wide range health disorders. A result of this oversight, people in “developed western countries” are suffering from malnutrition, undiagnosed food intolerances, and toxic chemical – all without knowing such issues exist. RHN’s emphasize the consumption of natural wholesome foods and the elimination of toxins from our bodies. RHN’s recommend deficiencies be addressed through dietary sources, supplementation and other positive lifestyle changes.
At Touchstone Naturopathic Centre in Mississauga Kim specializes in Optimizing Nutrition, Weight Management, and Chronic Illness (e.g. Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease) following ‘Therapeutic Lifestyle Change’ practices. She also assists families in implementing appropriate diets for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), AD/HD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) and other neurodevelopmental challenges (e.g. Seizures, Tics, Tourette’s Disorder, ODD, etc.). Such diets include but are not limited to Gluten Free/Casein Free/Soy Free and the Specific Carbohydrate Diet.
The key to success is treating patients with an individualized approach. No two people are the same and therefore their needs are treated this way. Kim coaches and educates her clients about their health and nutritional needs, encouraging them to take an active role in their own healthcare.
